I sent them an email saying I did not like the new layout and posted
here. Hopefully if enough people show their dissatisfaction they will
reconsider.

Read 'em as emails, and not bother with getting on to yahoo's site at all...

Not bloody likely. The last time they changed things around the display was
all screwed up when I went to use my yahoo email, and it wasn't until I
switched browsers that it became usable again. Emails to them didn't do a
damn bit of good.

They payd a fortune to some brainless web designers that don't actually
ever use the pages, it's not bloody likely they are going back.

Just stay away from the web interface at all, and use email.
(OR download opera browser, and switch to view->user mode and make
settings as you like. It looks much more reasonable with the standard
settings already.)

And all of a sudden my spam count on this address, used solely for mail
lists, has gone from maybe one per month to six this last download - I
wonder.

You are not alone. I wrote to them and when I asked if I could return
to the "old" look, was told "These service changes are final and no
exceptions will be granted."

But I am sure if enough people complain, they will consider making the
old look available. When Yahoo changed the mail site, they made the
old interface available, so it is not impossible.

LOL nothing is final until the CEO says it's final, and even they will then
change their mind under duress.

95% chance this is someone in the level responsible for the change not
wanting complaints to get higher so they don't look bad. Doesn't look good
when you've said how much you will improve the site and then everyone starts
complaining to your boss it sucks, may as well have those emails come to you so
you can tell them it's final! ;) All kinds of crap like that goes on in any
big corporation, it's part of why I can't stand to work in corporations, you
need hip waders that go to your neck to deal with the level of BS.

I haven't even looked at the group web site lately, maybe time to take a look
and see how bad they made it..
