Does anybody have a source for double sided phenolic boards?

Does anybody have a source for double sided phenolic boards?

2005-03-16 by Dave Hylands

Hi,

I was thinking of trying to mill some boards, and understand that phenolic
substrate would be better than fiberglass (easier on the cutters - dust isn't
as toxic).

I've several places which sell single sided phenolic. Does anybody have any
source for double sided phenolic boards? I checked the Links and didn't find
any sources (for double-sided).

I'm also going to try etching, and then will compare the results.

Thanks

Hi,

There's a good reason that there is no double-sided phenolic out there (or
almost none maybe).
Phenolic can't be used with the common throughhole plating processes and
thus there is no point in having two sides of copper. (For PCB
manufacturers anyway).
Phenolic is only mass-used for cheap electronics where single-sided and
flimsy is ok.

Don't think you will have much luck.

Try etching first and use the CNC for drilling, you will like the results
better.
