Homebrew PCBs

hello all, im having a little problem with protel 99se

When i try to pront the pcb, the pads do not show up, there is just a 
trace going to where the pad should be.  Makes drilling very hard if 
there are un used pins on sockets or ic's that i need to drill holes 
for.  How do i get the pads to print??
