TT woes

TT woes

2004-11-08 by art_lammoglia

Well yesterday was my third day trying to make toner transfer work
for me. Yesterdays papers were Time magazine and MaxBrite Inkjet. I
guess my Brother HL5040's toner is just not the right stuff, or my
skill at TT just plain sucks.

Today I tried my MG photoresist kit. It's been sitting on the shelf,
unopened, for about 2 years. Had 4 perfect boards within an hour. A
little messy, but no guess work and alot less time and work than I
have spent trying to figure out TT with my HL5040.

I guess I'll be sticking to photo resist for now. YMMV.

Cheers.

I own a Brother HL5140 which worked well with the famed Staples paper.
I know that printer doesn't take the same print cartridge as the
5040, but I thought I would just let you know that you were probably
close! The right paper made all the difference.

I tried the office max paper too - it has some kind of resin which
will NOT come off.

I guess I'll give it another shot when I get a hold of the Staples
paper, and again when I change my toner cartridge if its not yet
working. Thanks for the comments.
