looking for some help in designing a PCB

looking for some help in designing a PCB

2004-08-12 by oprystar

Good day all! I was wondering if anyone here has much experience with
PCB design and layouts? And may be willing to help me or at least
guide me in the right direction?

I am looking for some help in designing a layout for a personal
[not for sale, home use only]Colloidal Silver generator. Which,
through a current flowing through a .9999 pure Silver anode and
a .9999 pure Silver cathode while both are dipped in a high quality
Distilled Water, disperses silver ions into the water. The amount of
silver in the water is measure by parts per million (PPM).

In a nut shell, what I am wanting it to achieve is 1)recieve/display
a signal in mA and in PPM prior to starting 2)push button start which
also starts stirrer (agitator) and lights a red LED 3)switch polarity
of the electrodes every 60 seconds 4)reaches set point value for PPM
5) auto off which also stops stirrer (agitator) and switches off
original red LED and lights green LED. I was tinking about using
about 9 volts AC as the power source.

Thanks In Advance

It sounds like you need to go to Electronics-101 first. The design of
something like this is more on topic there. Then come back here to
design the board.

I have to agree with Steve on this one. It sounds like you want to
design the entire circuit from scratch .
I usually don't recommend this ..but in your case you should go to
radio-shack and look into getting a basic-stamp learning kit. The
basic stamp is a microcontroller that should suit your purposes, and
there are a LOT of forums and groups out there to provide you with
circuit design help and programming support.
Also check out the Parallex ( spelling ? ) web site .
Do a google search on "BASIC STAMP" and "BS2P" .
Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, Yes, I have designed several layouts from scratch, then
following thru to making the PCBs and mounting the components and
putting the project into use. It is fun and relaxing.

I really enjoy your list, I read/learn alot from you guys too. So
far, everythig I have made has been one sided. I have not tried
plated thruholes yet, but I am really wanting to give it an attempt.

Thaks again,
