Can anyone recommend a PCB milling program? I'd like a program which could convert a gerber file into a g-code file for routing. Thanks, ww2k

i'M NOT SURE WHAT pcb PROGRAM YOU ARE USING, iF IT'S BY CHANCE EAGLE,IT CAN SPIT G-CODE OUT DIRECTLY (OOPS been doing some g-coding myself) - If that is the case, Get PCB-Gcode.ulp from the cadsoft website, or the files section of the DIY-PCB CNC group. If not, then I dont know what to tell you JT

I use TurboCad and then ACE the DXF file. You can also use Eagle. See this link. http://mynock.dhs.org/pcbmilling/index.shtml --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "wwashington2k" <wwashington@a...> wrote:

WinQCAD is a schematic and board layout program that offers a free version for boards up to 2.3" square (60mm ? ) AND, it has a CNC feature in which you can create your isolation traces for etching without the need for a third part program. Outputs Gerbers and the 500 pin liscense is about $125.00 US Dave --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "crankorgan" <john@k...> wrote: > I use TurboCad and then ACE the DXF file. I'd like a program which >could convert a gerber file into a g-code file for routing. DeskPCB $75 http://www.imsrv.com/deskpcb Drills Excellon and routs trace isolation from Gerbers. Mirroring for bottom side of board. DeskCNC $250 http://www.imsrv.com/deskcnc Same functions, plus converts Gerbers to DXF for area clearing and other processing. Many other CAM functions. Both have customizable postprocessor capability. Fred Smith - IMService 2
