[Homebrew_PCBs] Reflow Toaster Oven

Re: Reflow Toaster Oven

The July issue doesn't yet appear to be out but a look at the June
issue's section on "what's in the july issue" didn't mention this
article. Where did you see this?

I don't know when you normally get your CC's, but I received my July
issue about a week ago. I don't have the page number for ya, but there
is definitely an article on a Toaster Oven Controller.

I usually get it when I go by a store that has it! Frys in Renton
had the June issue on the stand today.

more reflow oven questions.

2004-06-30 by Phil

Well, thanks to all for helping me find the CCI article. In it the
author makes the statement that you need a PCB with a soldermask to
use a reflow oven. He then goes on to say that he doesn't know how
to apply a soldermask to homemade boards (I'll give him credit for
honesty but not for research).

So my questions to this group:

- has anyone had reflow oven success on a
PCB without a soldermask? If so, what size/type of
components.

- has anyone had success applying a soldermask?
I assume via lamination.

- Unfortunately the stuff that T&T sells is like
$150 for 40 ft of it. Anyone have a source of
smaller quantities?
