Inexpensive source for solder paste?

Inexpensive source for solder paste?

2004-04-28 by Mark

Was this ever answered? For the few things that I want to do, I'm
unwilling to pay Future/Active the $$ they want for a package that
will expire before I use more than a fraction of it.... But my
toaster oven is waiting.... / mark

maybe ebay...

how big are the chances that you can make your own?
maybe one could produce fine solder powder by electroplating?

Try contact east. They have Kester no clean and others at good
prices..
As far as longevitiy, I have had my tube for over a year and it works
just fine. I do keep it in my refrigerator, capped on both ends and
with the tube opening facing down. May not be suitable for production
quality work, but it is fine for hobbysist.

A few months back I ran into some problems with the applicator
clogging a little too often. I just squeezed a litte extra out of the
tube to get to paste that was probably not quite as dried out. Have
not had any more problems since.

Mark
I've got a few contacts (sales people - you know, "close personal
friends") that I'm checking
with. Found them looking for water soluble fluxes for another attempt
at building pcbs. Once
I get my epson 400 working for flat bed printing...
Anyway, I'll let you know what I find out for prices. It looks like the
top end for shelf life
is about 6 months for jars, 3 for syringes. That is in a refrigerator.
