need some help on plating

2004-04-03 by Dave Mucha

Hi all,

I need a board with gouges cut into it. Little recesses for a part
to sit into.

I can cut the gouges, but then I need to get them plated, just like a
thru-hole.

I hope plating can be done over a little wider area.....

The board is pretty small, about 2.5x4

Can someone plate my board for me ?

I'll be happy to trade CNC-PCB drilling : )

Do you need elestrical conductivity to the pad, or is it just for
heat transfer? If you need electrical, and the solder is not for
mechanical a conection as well, you can fill the area with conductive
ink, and once the part is in place, put some more on the joint for
conductivity. I don't know the thermal properties of the ink.
Unfortunately, I do know the hallucinatory properties.

Yes, I need electrical conductivity. The recesses would wind up with
connections to other pins.
