Reproducing a vintage computer PCB

I've been a lurker for a while and sort of new here.  So forgive me if this has been talked about before.


I have a unbuilt Quest Super Elf kit.  What I would like to do is scan in the PCB so I can print the images on a laser printer and make a duplicate board.  That way I can keep the original unbult but still have a PCB that I ( and others ) could build.


So what is the best way to scan in the PCB and do any clean up?  The original is a two sided, light green color, and 8x10 inch.

To add to this, we're discussing this topic on the Cosmac Elf discussion forum. There's no issues with intellectual property in this case because the design was released to the public by the owner.

Did you buy the kit that was sold on ebay a few days ago?

A starting point for reproduction. Since the board is 8"X10", put the board on a flatbed scanner, scan both sides, and post the results.

I bet that GIMP or Photoshop could turn the image into black and white.

Nope, I've had this kit sitting in a box for years.  But the discussion about that ebay auction prompted me to get it out again.  This then lead to me thinking about doing the scan so others could build their own.  I'll do a scan and post it here.  Well probably do several scans with different settings and see what happens.

Yep, you are right.  My browser was glitching and I had to restart it.  But the files are over the 10mb limit.  Oh well, I'll have to zip them in smaller chunks and try again.  Thanks for checking or letting me know.
