direct laser toner print to pcb

Re: direct laser toner print to pcb

Yes, I did everything up to the etching part with this printer. I did some of the roller changes
with items on hand.

I just tested the quality of the toner lay-down and I used very thin PCB material. It worked well.

When will someone be posting a how-to for this process? I don't know enough about laser printers to even know where to start on something like this, but I am good at following directions and have years of EE experience so it looks like an interesting project. Would anyone be interested in making this a group project?

I would - I am intersted but will need a *bit* of handolding to be sure. A group process would be great for me.

I am hard at work doing an Instructible. Hope to have it on line by the weekend. I've revised it a bit so that no programming or MCU is necessary. It should only take a few hours and there are no critical steps. The last two E260s I bought cost me $45 USD each on ebay, including shipping. I'm trying to get my hands on a cheap E250 to see if that works.

I am looking forward to the e260 project, and will be picking one up tomorrow for $40 by way of craig's list. I've seen your ATTINY24 MCU-2 schematic and I wonder what it would take to convert the code to an Arduino Pro Mini sketch. Any ideas on that?
Thanks for sharing your work and information.
Regards,
Roger

Roger,

I am trying to convert the hack a bit to not use an MCU. In any case, the current software is much simpler than what I originally published, so ignore it for now. Arduino should be easy.

It was published in the files section of this group, but I pulled it a few days ago. It was very out of date (2010) and I didn't want to confuse things.

Where is your earlier work published? The earlier stuff used an ATTINY24?

OK!
Good news. I see now in your later email that the old info is obsolete, so I'll wait for the new info.
Thanks,
Roger

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
