Just joined. A little about me.

Where to begin is a long story in and of itself, but here I go...

I've been doing through hole etching for about 2.5 years now. I work mostly with brass, although I have done some aluminum. I have done a few circuit boards of my own design, but that is not where I spend most of my time. Because I do very detailed designs on very thin brass (.005 inch), the toner transfer method has never been an option. I use a dry film resist with a top and bottom stencil to get my designs made. Recently I have been wanting to create smaller and smaller etched items and have run into needing a better printer than the ones I've been using. The ones I've been using are 99% from Kinko's which is no longer an option (I'll explain in a longer post), and a HP4100.

I'll do some quality searching through the thousands of posts before posting any questions. I just wanted to introduce myself.

Mike,

I am always interested in higher resolution & better density printers.

There are several test pictures available but I made my own to include both the US air force 1951 resolution test chart and different spacing line pairs, including the difficult slightly angular ones.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
