Photoresists

has anyone tried AZ Electronic Materials photoresists? I found their website with some genereal information about some different products they offer, mainly to industry for commercial production of PCBs and semiconductor devices I think. not sure whether they are available through any US distributors in smaller quantities but I would think probably they can be found somewhere...

Robert,
I used Shipley's AZ111 for years it was a pos resist that develped in NaC03 solution. I would spin coat double sided boards with the stuff up to about 10x10. Though 10x10 was though to get a good spin coat. I initally etched with feric chloride then switched to ammonium persulfate because it was cleaner and I had snagged a free 25lb bucket of the persulfate from our local pcb shop.

The AZ111 gave very good results and was easy to use. I think Shipley sold the line or Shipley got aquired but your like looks like the modern version of the products. Don't know which of the current offerings would be similar to the AZ111 but any of them should work.

In those day we hand taped 2:1 masters and had them photo reduced. The only PITA was taking the negative from the photo house and making a contact positive. I had to mark all my art work masters in big letters "THIS SIDE TOWARDS LENSE" to be sure in the end the film emulsion ended up against the board to reduce parallex trace thinning.

Good to know, Thanks!

I read something about Shipley's being aquired by a chemical, paint and coatings company, Rohm and Haas.
