Kicad question

Kicad question

2011-07-31 by nps0

I'm just trying KICAD for the first time. I find the black background very hard to use, and the grid dots just disappear(old eyes, etc.). I can't find any option to change to a white, or at least lighter color background. Is there a color option that I've missed?

Hello Norm
You can click on preferences -> then list will drop down click on colous -> then the window will open with all the colours
on bottom right side now you can see small area with two options black and white pick up white and done.
Kicad is very good software but is little bit hard to use at beginning.

Thanks, Pawel. I should have been more specific - I have the schematic
part ok. it's the PCB portion that I have problems with, and
preferences does not have a color option in my version. I will have to
agree - it's not as intuitive as some others I've used.

Unfortunately there is no option to change background colour in PCBbnew.
maybe in future version but hard to say.
