Fyi, Was thinking about growing some hydroponic tomatoes this year and took a trip over to a local hydroponic supplier. Hand't realized how big an industry this is these days. But I am sure its not for tomatoes. Well, there on the shelf nex to the Super Bud Juice and the Earth Gold Super Grow nutrients were quarts of 27% peroxide. I didn't see the price and then forgot to ask. Didn't have etching suplies in mind at the time. Craig [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

The local pool supply stores in my area stock it too. It's actually pretty cheap. The ingredients listed are usually just hydrogen peroxide and water. They sell HCL pretty cheap too. -- Erik L. Knise Seattle, WA

Hell, with dozens of medical marijuana pharmacies in each city here in California and the fact the state is bankrupt there is not much chance they can monitor anything with their 1960's computers. Even the feds haven given up on marijuana and switched to going after the meth labs. Craig --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, Alessio Sangalli <alesan@...> wrote:

Hot tub/spa supply stores should also have it around 30%. It's used as an oxidizer to clean organic waste from the water. --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "designer_craig" <cs6061@...> wrote:

I stopped at the local pool supply and asked for peroxide. They didn't know what I was talking about, and I didn't see any there. Is there a brand name? What is it used for? Mark At 08:39 PM 5/4/2011, you wrote:

Baqua spa oxidizer. However, I made a mistake on the concentration -it's only 7.5% . Getting old, memory not what it used to be. --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, Mark Lerman <mlerman@...> wrote:

Mark Here is a link to a pool supply here (So. Ca.) The name is Baquacil shock and oxidizer. I use it in my etch rejuvenation, in my hydroponic garden and I keep water available for the critters around here and i put an ounce in that once a week to kill algae and mosquito larvae. http://www.lesliespool.com/Home/Pool-Chemicals/Chlorine-Alternatives/13319.html Jim KI6MZ

In Canada, none of the pool and spa shops carried it. I ended up getting 35% food grade peroxide at a health food store. 5 years ago, it was $17.00 for 1 liter. That amount will last a very long time if you're etching with CuCL. My bottle is still nearly full.

Got mine from a professional beauty supply store (for hair coloring) - 30% or so, $5.00 per quart. Norm

Is that 30 Volume or 30 percent? When I looked it was 30 and 40 Volume. I think 30 Volume is around 10 or 12%. Craig --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, Norm <w6nim@...> wrote:

I have to stop relying on memory - approaching 80, I have CRS syndrome (can't remember s**t). Looked at the bottle, and it's *40 volume*, not 30%.**Called 'clear developer'. Norm Is that 30 Volume or 30 percent? When I looked it was 30 and 40 Volume. I think 30 Volume is around 10 or 12%. Curious about strength, I went looking - found this: *This VOLUME......* *contains this PERCENTAGE of hydrogen peroxide* 10 volume or V10 3% 20 volume or V20 6% 30 volume or V30 9% 40 volume or V40 12% For what it's worth - - - Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Try sodium perborate tetrahydrate as a high value hydrogen peroxide source, http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Homebrew_PCBs/message/25159 and Using it, http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Homebrew_PCBs/message/27906

I checked at a Leslies Pool Supply in Phoenix, AZ, where you would expect a full range of pool and spa products to be frequently used. They did not know what I was talking about when I asked for Hydrogen Peroxide, and the Baqua Spa oxidizer was the only thing they had. So 7.5% is likely to be the strongest you can get at a pool supply, and that hardly seems worth the extra cost. IIRC they have 30% at beauty supply places. -Pete On May 7, 2011, at 9:37 PM, Mike wrote: > I checked at a Leslies Pool Supply in Phoenix, AZ, where you would expect a full range of pool and spa products to be frequently used. No, it's not 30%, it's 30 Volume, which I think is 9%. They also have 40 vol, which is 12%. You can buy higher concentrations, see ebay or google. -----Original Message-----
