Sounds like a Folder "Permissions" problem.
That's easy ti fix on Ubuntu, I'm not so sure about Vista.

Yeah .. I moved it out of the C\Program files folder and into C:\kicad .. but
still the same ..

It is working better in ubuntu .. and I might try it on my windows 7 ..
When I start it up, it wants to connect to the internet .. any idea why that is?

Randy

Right click on the folder and check the "Permissions" tab to see
who is allowed access to the folder.
It should be allowed for regular users not the just admin.

I don't use Windows so i don 't know why it's trying to connect to the
Internet, unless it's trying to update.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
