Laser printer double printing to thicken toner

Laser printer double printing to thicken toner

2010-01-11 by cboy2us

I have searched for topics about this, but haven't waded through all the posts yet to find if someone has done this, or if it is even possible. I get complete toner transfer when I iron and peel, but it is spotty and hectic to try and cover all of it with a sharpie....just an idea.

For my printer it would be impossible, the alignment has an error of about 5mm most of the time! :)

cboy2us,

I had the problem of porous toner with a HP laserjet 1320. The printer came with a toolbox that allowed a setting of print density, but HP did not upgrade the software for Vista and the drivers do not allow this setting.

Pulsar has a tip on their web site for setting toner density with this link

http://victechsoftware.com/ljconfig.html

My printer is not listed under those supported. However, it seems to work ok. The default setting is 3, but I can jack it up to 5.

Also, I use Pulsar GreenTRF foil to seal the transferred toner.

These two fixes cured my porous toner problem.

Regarding the HP 1320 laser printer.
To change settings (if it is a network printer a 1320N).
You may set the inter directly through your web browser.
Just enter the URL for example 192.168.0.2 (this is what mine is)
It will come up as a web page and you may check settings and status.
