substitute paper for TT

substitute paper for TT

2008-09-26 by Richard

I ran out of the Hammermill paper recommended by this group, and could
not find it any where, assume it has been discontinued. I purchased a
ream of HammerMill Color Laser Gloss from Staples to try. I works as
well if not better for Toner Transfer. No fuzzy fibers left on the
toner at all. Very clean etch. The 32 # weight allows me to use a
laminator to do the transfer. The paper soaks off in a couple minutes,
another advantage of the lighter weight paper.

Fairly cheap too:

Sadly it'll be hard to find outside the US.

I also found the glossy paper to give better results than the matte one
(sharper edges, no paper fuzz), but it seems to me that one needs really
good toner coverage. The matte paper was more forgiving, possibly due to the
additional paper junk stuck to the toner.
