CNC Drilling for Toner Transfer PCB

CNC Drilling for Toner Transfer PCB

2008-07-18 by dandumit

Hi,
Toner Transfer is an acceptable method for fast pcb prototyping.
It has 2 disadvantages : the drilling should be made manually and the
image doesn't have exactly the same dimensions as designed - this way
the automated drilling it's not possible directly.

For Mach3 driven, cnc owners I have made a solution based on a webcam
mounted aside from drilling motor, a modified video plugin and a small
program for conversion/rotation/scale of excellon drilling files.

If it's someone interested in this solution - I will post all the
needed info.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi, Daniel.

I would be very much interested.. Sounds a very nice option when you
have hundreds of hole to drill by hand :-(

Best regards,

So... The video guides the drill to the hole?

Wow...

I would be very interested in seeing that...

The CNC compensation sounds very interesting and I like to see it too,
especially since I have that same equipment.
