Tip: If you do this manual soldering of vias: I like to either use 
stripped wire-wrap wire or a strand( from a length of stranded wire ) 
and weave it
in and out of all the vias. This way it holds the wire steady and you 
can solder all of the vias per side in one shot, then snip them off.
