Paper for Toner Transfer

2007-10-25 by don2822003

Hi all, can anyone tell me what paper is the best to use that is
available in AUSTRALIA . I cannot get the recommended STAPLES SKU
PICTURE Paper here, Staples do not ship outside the US or Canada.
When I was last on this group some time ago the paper that was being
talked about was a paper something like is used to print TIME magazine on.
Any help would be most appreciated.
TIA Don VK3YV....

I use normal paper, 75g/cm^3... I've also tried recicled paper and it works
just as good.

Have you tried glossy magazine paper yet? It may not be as
good as some of the photo papers but I've had pretty good
results just using pages torn out of periodicals. It will
give you something to work with until you find a suitable
source of something that you can get locally.

Personally I gave up on all the paper based processes and
only use Press 'n' Peel now. Too much farting around with
soaking, peeling and rough trace edges. But for a quick
inexpensive simple PCB, magazine paper can work remarkably
well.

Can you get magazines in Australia?
Magazine paper makes excellent TT.
Try and practice.... and don't forget the paper towel
between the transfer and the iron!

HP Everyday Photo Paper, Semigloss.

Very cheap, basically paper coated in a water-soluble coating. Print on, iron
on, soak in water to remove. The whole sheet usually floats off of the toner,
leaving little or no residue.
