New Kodak Inkjet Printers

New Kodak Inkjet Printers

2007-02-23 by keith

I heard about this one on FOX News last week. Claims/reports are the
black cartridges will cost $10US and 5-color $15US - and hold a lot
more PIGMENTED ink than the current competition.

No idea if they will be useful for making boards, but it looks like the market
is changing yet again. The bottom of the line (which would be our interest)
will sell for $150US with Best Buy as the sole distributor.

No finincial interest; just thought it might be useful info.

I had heard about the Kodak printers a week or two ago.
If I recall they are attempting to target the people who do a lot of
photo printing. What I heard indicated that the digital camera sells
were slumping because (average consumer) people have two choices
a) take the memory card to a camera store, $$$ or
b) DIY at home prints from PC printer (most people will not invest
the time or money for GOOD software so they get crummy results)
If we are talking about the same printer AND I remember correctly
this is supposed to be a direct from camera to printer arrangement,
no PC required.

I fully agree with the general ignorance; most people don't even know how to
print on both sides of the page 8o(

I did a bit more looking and came up with this URL:

http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=9/1441/10580/10590/10592&pq-locale=en_US

32ppm black. Plain paper, coated paper, photo paper, iron-on, transparency
film, label media, greeting cards,17 to 24 lb. plain paper
