ABACOM - Spint Layout, any new opinions?

ABACOM - Spint Layout, any new opinions?

2007-01-28 by lcdpublishing

Hi guys,

Checking back in the archives, I noticed several folks using Sprint
Layout. I downloaded the demo this morning for the new version I
liked what I saw so far. While I dearly love PCB Wizard for it's
brilliant simplicity, it doesn't make it easy to work with isolation
milling and it doesn't allow for "easy" user creation of additional
components.

When I saw this product (Spring Layout), it appears to be able to do
a lot of what i want. It is very easy to work with (so far). So, I
am just asking for opinions on personal uses - any problems,
gotchas, bugs, don't do, etc.

If someone has the full version, I wonder if you could create an
isolation milling file (PLT) for me and either email it to me or
post it in the files section. Doesn't much matter what the circuit
is (preferably simple), I will just be using it to see how easy it
will be to create an import filter for my CNC machine.

Thanks!!!
Chris

Well, which is it, Spint Layout, Sprint Layout, or Spring Layout? ;-)

LOL! In all the excitement of messing around with the new software I
must have kept forgetting it's name :-0

I'll email you, privately, a set of CNC files/
Sprint Layout attracts me because it is able to import,
transparently, a magazine pcb as bmp.

Cristin,

Thanks much! That will help a lot and the few minutes it took to
look over the files, it appears as though writing an import filter
should be pretty easy.

The Sprint's milling output files are HPGL.
I'm interested in your work.
