I am thinking of selling the T-Tech units I got and making my own
etcher.

what software do you all use to create the lines around traces for
milling boards ?

I just ran across this, that may be of interest:

GerbMerge is a program for combining (panelizing) Gerber/Excellon files for
printed circuit board manufacturing. It can panelize copies of the same job,
different jobs, and can also rotate jobs.
