jcarlosmor, please take a look at http://www.prototrains.com/etch2/etch2.html

I didn't make the tank for PCB's, but it would make quick work of one (I just joined this list to see what was current in photoetching for PCB's, because I have some prototyping I'd like to do. I have not gone through the archives yet...)

"Tank 4" has been out of comission for a couple of years, but I am currently working on Tank 5, with the same pump and nozzles. The nozzles are very well matched to the pump's output, and put out a good full spray cone (as you can see from the article, I just use one nozzle per side and rotate my workpiece while spraying (in Tank 5 the rotation will be by a gearmotor a la rotisserie)

In the new tank, I have found a flexible hose for use in underground sprinkers called Cobra Connector. It has pipe thread ends, and that has let me put most of the pressure-side tubing inside the tank (only a small connection from the pump through the tank wall is exposed)

I will put some pictures up on my website soon with my progress. Please feel free to ask any questions that aren't explained well enough in the article.

Best regards,

Randy

hmm....maybe I should mention this....

I have a crate-full of Polypropylene tanks that might
be perfect for an etcher like this...or other PCB baths.

They're approx. 12x14" I think...and there are several
thicknesses....like 2", 3", 4".

All were made at a pro plastics-house...fully welded, etc..

Most are still new/unused...

They're stored away in a semi-trailers, but if anyone's
interested, I could try to get some pics of them.

Thank you very much for your info Randy!

In fact, I believe that I saw your page some time ago (just when I was
starting working with the Bungard machine) and realize that a DIY spray
thank would be a nice addition to my lab. After that, I can not longer
visit your page anymore since I did not do a bookmark or something.
Very good work, I believe that you use your system for train cells
modeling.

I'd be interested in seeing the smaller ones. I am getting really
tired of doing it by hand. Would you be willing to sell one?

ok Keith, I'm having trouble with downloading pics into
my PC right now; but as soon as I get that figured
out; or if I can find a pic of them already in my archives
somewhere; I'll post a link to it here.

These were made for PCB work originally; and are either
3/16" or 1/4" wall...can't recall right now.

I also have a few which are much heavier...3/8 wall maybe;
and with thick flanged tops. They are used, but reasonably
clean....and larger/heavier. I think they might be 14x18x4"
or 14x20x6"...something like that....haven't seen them in a few
years. My whole shop was packed into a semi upon moving
a few years back....and 99% of it hasn't seen the light of day
since...sadly enough. No wonderful standalone shop-building
here to unpack into....sigh....

Also have an original LPKF machine that I'm thinking of
selling...

I'm a newbie here, found the forum while searching for info on pcb's.
I'm doing a short run of 12x18 boards, and am setting up a
screenprint for the resist. I've tried the toner transfer and had
little success. I need to have it so I can duplicate them a bunch of
times in the future too.

I was looking for a good tank for the etch, and intended to do spray
etch, hopefully with peroxy-sulfuric and acetic acid.

If you can find the larger tanks, I would be interested.
