Board produced with JetStar film

Board produced with JetStar film

2006-01-16 by leon_heller

This is a PCB I've produced with JetStar inkjet film:

Files > LCDPUB > 18F2455.jpg

It looks like the process I'm using with this film is reliable and
repeatable. I don't waste a whole sheet of the film on a little board
like this, of course; I cut a small piece and stick it to a sheet of
ordinary A4 paper with a piece of masking tape, and put that in the
paper feeder.

The board is for experimenting with the USB function of the
PIC18F2455. It just has an LED for output. It has the usual USB
connector and a connector for the ICD 2 debugger/programmer.

Epson Photo 870. It's several years old. I'm using a cheap ink refill, it'll
probably be better with Epson ink.

OK, thanks Leon.

I have about the same Epson printers. Unfortunately I cannot find JetStar
films here in Sweden.

Is it only MEGA that offers these very ‘expensive’ films? Is this the
standard film or the new Premium?

Cheers
Bengt

Further to the above, it's just taken me a couple of hours to get that
rather simple board working! I eventually found that I had the ICD 2
connections reversed. I'm using a different connector than the one
I've used previously, I changed the footprint but forgot to swap the
pin numbers! 8-(

Hi Leon,

[OT]How hard is it to program and write software for the PIC18F2455,
as I am considering using it?

If you could reply too me off list?

Regards

Gary

They are the main suppliers. Rapid Electronics also sells it

I've been using the standard film. They sent me a sample sheet of the
Premium but I haven't tried it yet.

Farnell also stocks both types, order code for standard is 4138090
