New Laser Printer & Press and Peel Blue

New Laser Printer & Press and Peel Blue

2006-01-06 by kilocycles

Well, I just bought a Brother 2040 laser printer so I wouln't hav to
keep running to the copy store, and tried it with Press and Peel Blue,
my usual medium for copier transfers. Terrible! About 1/4 of the
toner transferred. Today I printed my image on a sheet of Epson
Glossy Photo ink jet paper with the Brother, and it was much better.
The paper lifts off the board rather than slowly dissolving like a
rag-content paper would (as I understand it). It left some surface
material in some of the tracks, but I carefully scraped those clean.
I had to do some filling in with black Sharpies, but at least I got a
well-defined board, after etching.

I'll look for some of the clay-coated paper next.
