Newbie. advice on best media for printing artwork on .. I am in UK

2005-12-30 by Gary

Hi

I am about to start producing my own pcbs for hobbies etc.. using my
epson C64 inkjet.

I would like advice on the best media to print the artwork on, from
what i have read, i assume its using OHP A4 film?

What have you used with repeatable success, and if possible available
in the UK.

Regards

Gary

I get very good results with JetStar film, available from:

It's much better than OHP film.

I am yet to see any prints that produce darker and pinhole free artwork
than my Epson Stylus 660 with Epson inkjet Transparency, and Epson black
ink (although Calidad brand Epson black refill ink comes mighty close).
These films are very pricey, but worth it if you don't want to mess
around finding something else suitable. Alternative brands of
transparencies that I've found to work with most inkjet (Cannon and HP
with pigmented refill black inks) is 3M inkjet film and the HP inkjet
film. Its all a matter of experimentation. Results can vary *widely*
depending on the ink formulation, transparency receptor coating,
printer, and printer driver settings.
Good luck,

Adam

If you use it, you need this data sheet.
