Elektor reflow oven

Elektor reflow oven

2005-12-19 by leon_heller

Can't rememember if it has been mentioned here (I've seen it
somewhere), but the January 2006 issue of Elektor has a
temperature-controlled reflow oven based on a cheap toaster oven. I
see that Argos (and some other suppliers in the UK) are selling a
Hinari toaster oven for £19.95. I think I'll buy one and make my own
version of the one in Elektor, eventually putting it in my own case. I
doubt if the quartz IR elements can be obtained for that sort of price.

I'd like to order it on-line and pick it up from my local Argos shop but
the Argos web site seems to be overloaded.

There was a Circuit Cellar web article I was looking at just a little
while ago with a toaster oven ect... Looks like back then the toaster
ovens where a premium item and cost $200 though.

I seem to remeber sparkfun dot com having some toaster oven controller
as well. I just wish I had time to builkd everything I saw.

The Evaluation Board used in this deign (Lacoste) is no more available.
About the Elektor design: the thermocouple IC is very hard to find.
