My tank is nothing more than a tupperware container - tall and
skinny. I drilled a hole through the side near the top to pass the
air hose through. As soon as I turned off the air pump, I realized my
error - siphoning.
Do you guys leave your air hoses in the tank like this or do you pull
all the bubbler stuff out when you are done etching?
There are (pet shops) valves (non metallic parts) designed specifically for
fish tanks air hoses and are vy cheap.

There are no-return valves for fish tanks, but i personally just keep the
pump at a higher level than the tank at all times.
I attached my bubbler hose to the heater via wire ties so it comes out
when the etching is done. I did it mainly to keep my bubbler where I
wanted it. When i was using CuCl, it would siphon quite readily. I
think it has a much higher capillary action that the others. Almost
like a mind of its own.
