? about making PCBs look good?

? about making PCBs look good?

2005-08-26 by lcdpublishing

A few days ago someone posted that you could use candy apple green
paint to paint a circuit board to look good. Instantly I thought,
wow, that would be about the right color.

Then I got to thinking, how the hell do you paint a circuit board? Do
you have to mask off all of the solder pads one-by-one?

Curious Chris :-)

the idea was to use a paint that can be soldered through, so you paint
everything.
I haven't tried it myself.

Testor's transparent paints aren't very heavy. I think the idea is
that soldering temperatures will vaporize what little paint is
covering the pad. (YMMV, I haven't used this method myself either.)
