You can buy resist spray. I think Russ Shaw has a lot of experience 
in this area. You can Google his name and resist spray or something 
similar if he or someone else doesn't chime in here.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
