Probably are but you never know. If you buy it and try to mod it, please take some pictures. On the subject of clones - I dont think anyone has copied the gbc. The only real advantage of GBC is that some one has opened it up and figured out how to increase the distance between the lamination rollers, thus accomodating thicker media. Its a bit hit or miss for others. As long as they are hot laminators (vs cold), there is probably a way to make them work. I've been keeping my eye out for laminators at the thrift stores in my area but have yet to see anything.
