For me, it is easier to etch and then drill.
After printing onto the TT, I will align then tack the two sides
together with scotch tape. I leave a little extra of a tail  on the
side that I will apply the tape to. I also apply tape  to the sides
,along the tail, to minimize any twisting.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
