Just wondering if anyone here has ever tried to duplicate boards or done something in the same fashion as the ones done for project tinkertoy back in the early 50's.

I just came across the concept the other day and thought it would be quite interesting for some retro styled kind of project. Combining several different technologies including everything from SMT to tubes might make for a fun kind of project.
I guess you could just make up some boards and join them with headers but it wouldn't have the same aesthetic.
Just thought it was neat.
