Just my opinion but I'd prefer two short beeps every 30 seconds when it is up to temperature.
I bought the kit thru Jamesco when the Alpine's reappeared for $79. Is there any way to tell what version of the firmware it is running? And when you need beta testers for the new, improved version of the firmware I'd be happy to flash a new PIC and give it a try.
