Yeah, the yellow paper is weird like that. I have a feeling you have to use that TRF with it. Like I mentioned, it doesn't seem to leave anything on the paper though. Usually when there are breaks,etc. with the normal paper, there will be little bits of toner still on it. I have no idea where it all goes with this stuff, but like you, I'm running at a pretty dense (black) setting, so there should be plenty.
On the plus side, that successful first board with the yellow paper and TRF was beautiful. It looked like a silkscreen, so it's well worth using, even if you have to get foil to go with it.
Still need to figure out why my last board was such a hassle though. Not only did the toner not take for a couple tries, but the TRF didn't work well either, so I'm guessing it was a laminator issue.
