The Harbor Freight models don't look the same as the one from GB.
Do you have a HF model number of the one you have?

There is too much run out for carbide bits. It works well with steel
bits. The chuck will hold .020 or 0.5mm drill bits or larger bits.
My speed control quit working. So I wired it as a switch. So
mine operates as a single speed motor, but it has variable speed adjustment with
the belt pulleys.
