I know that regular (for "them") or normal (for "us") ;-) epoxy is much stronger than 5 min epoxy but look at your application. You have a GIANT surface, and only very little separation forces. I think roughing the copper is just overkill. But if you peel off the copper of a precoated board you can see it is roughened at the adhesive side. So there seems to be some point in that. ST
