As soon a a PC is upgraded at work the old case is thrown, along most of it's contents. I scrounge some of the PSU's and switches and leave then in place. Usually the cases are metal 16 gauge steel with a steel or ali frame in side... all chop up nicely and work well with reamer, hacksaw and all the standard PC case screws and stand offs to create the perfect small RF shielded enclosures for free.
