Re: [Homebrew_PCBs] Good place to get PCB drill bits?

2012-11-23 by John Anhalt

I bought a bunch of resharpened bits for less than $0.10 each a few years ago (boxes of 50). They were labeled Magatool Chip Saver and have worked well. The going rate now seems to be $0.50 each for resharpened on eBay. But, it might be worth watching for a real auction. That's how I got mine. I guess no one thought they could use 1000 of them.

Various sizes are available. Mine were all #66 (0.033").

Far circuits sells carbide tipped PCB drills with large (1/8?) shanks, but they're way too expensive from them. I'm looking for cheap ones, but not unusably cheap Chinese ones. Something like Enco house brand quality (no, I didn't check Enco). What do people who do this a lot buy?
