Homebrew PCBs

On this topic of discussion I have a question before I buy a laminator GPC 220 Laminator. What is the best way to measure the temperature of the board after it comes thru the rollers as I will be doing only 8mm
to 9mm thickness size boards. 
1. DMM with temperature
2. IR temperature meter
I do iron on with vinyl & cheep clothes iron to success but wish to graduate to laminator in the near future but have no experience in measureing temperatures as a home hobbiest only. Does any one know the facts and answer to this simple question. Thanks Kevin
