I'm curious as to how much Ferric are you trying to heat up (1 gal., 5 gal, etc.), and from what temp (ambient) to what temp (target) are you going to? What I would suggest is to find a submersible Teflon coated heater (I have seen them in all shapes and sizes; one size I particularly liked is a flat, square element that sits flat on the bottom of a container).
