I drill a 1.2mm hole in the corner then run a length of thin insulated
wire through it.

I bought a hundred-metre reel of the stuff at a hamfest. It's too
thickly-insulated to use as wire-wrap wire, and too thin and weak for
hookup wire. So it gets used to suspend PCBs in the etch tank! :)
