yes, great idea.

I did a quick search of eBay - you can get these things in 1.1mm 1.3mm
1.5mm 1.8mm as well as 2mm and larger too as well as various lengths and
materials - gold or silver plated or sterling silver.  I will have to
spend a bit of time looking through the various and will have to check
with the local arts and craft and jewelry supply for some examples.
