RE: [Homebrew_PCBs] Looking for through hole vias

2011-06-17 by Paul Galarneau

Hi,

I found another site that sells through hole VIAs.
http://www.solder.net/pcb/pcb_repairmaterials.asp

Hope this helps!

Subject: [Homebrew_PCBs] Looking for through hole vias

I built a mixed smt and through hole kit on a commercial pc board recently
and installed a header on the wrong side of the board. The board was thru
hole plated. When I tried to unsolder the header with a solder sucker and
then several passes with solder wick I managed to pull the header out but 2
of the vias came with it. The header uses .025" square pins. The old vias
would not go back in the hole or back on the pins.

Does anyone know where I can buy a few vias? I have some larger ones but
are huge compared to the ones I am looking for.

Can anyone point me to a source for a few of the through hole vias?

Thank you.

Jim Pruitt
