Javaguy: I think it works like: the peroxide "oxidizes" the copper, i.e. decomposes it, and the muriatic acid dissolves the decomposed copper. I think the vinegar (acetic acid) would probably work, but it would have to be a very strong vinegar. Household vinegar is about 2 or 3 percent acid. Someone will certainly correct me if I am wrong.
