I'm with Carl on this one -- this doesn't seem to me to be a case of "Better Living through Chemistry". We use 000 steel wool for everything -- cleaning/texturing the board before applying etch mask, as well as for removing the mask (in our case, spraypaint) afterwards. For a little bit of elbow grease, I'm very content to forego the chemicals.
