When I did my laminator hack, I tested a couple of toners. HP melts around 170C (340F) and the high-temp Brother around 187C (370F). I've yet to take the time to truly characterize the HP toner though - toners have two interesting temperatures, the one where they become plastic and sticky (good) and the higher one where they actually turn liquid (bad). You want something between those :-)
