Homebrew PCBs

I'm new to the group, and impressed with the example photo of a homebrew PCB on the group's home page (The FM Receiver with a penny in the photo for scale).  What method was used to do this?  I haven't been able to get anywhere near that kind of precision with traditional toner transfer, and I haven't tried any other methods yet.
